Esposende
Legal regime in 2026: DL 124/2006 (municipal forest fire plan still in force)
Esposende is a municipality in the district of Braga (sub-region: Cávado), covering 95 km² in 14 parishes. 38 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 78 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Mar, Esposende and Apúlia. 14 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Antas, São Paio de Cima and São Paio de Cima.
