Terms and conditions

The terms of use of this site — what it offers, what it doesn't guarantee, and who provides it.

Last checked 8 October 2026

1. Who provides the service

This site is provided by:

[Name], sole trader (empresário em nome individual)
NIF (tax number) [number]
[Address], Portugal
E-mail: info@aceiro.pt

By using the site you accept these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

2. The service

The site shows, on a map and on pages per municipality, where the mandatory fuel-management strips in mainland Portugal lie, computed from public data, and explains the rules that apply to them. Use is free and requires no registration.

Any paid services added later — for example reports per parcel — will have their own terms, shown before purchase.

3. Nature of the information

  • It is screening information, not legally binding. The strips are computed automatically from the official land-cover map (COS), mapped buildings and the parcel boundaries of BUPi and the land cadastre. This data may not match the situation on the ground, and widths may be changed locally by sub-regional programmes or municipal plans. The known limits are described under Sources.
  • It is not legal advice. The explanations of the rules summarise the legislation with the articles cited, but they don’t replace reading the legal texts or the opinion of a lawyer. Where the law is unclear, we say so.
  • The authorities have the final word. The municipality, the GNR and the other competent bodies decide whether a piece of land must be cleared and how.
  • It is not an official service. The site is independent and has no connection with the Portuguese state, ICNF, AGIF or any municipality.

You should not base decisions — whether to clear, or to buy or sell land — on this information alone, without confirming it with the municipality or on the ground.

4. Third-party data and licences

The map uses data from the Direção-Geral do Território, BUPi, OpenStreetMap, Microsoft and EOX, each under its own licence (see Sources). Data derived from sources licensed under the ODbL — such as the building layer — is subject to that licence and may be reused on its terms.

The texts, the design of the site and the code are ours. You may quote short extracts with credit and a link to the page; other uses need our permission.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • compromise the security or operation of the site, in particular through attacks or automated bulk downloading that overloads the servers;
  • present the site’s information as official or as a decision of an authority;
  • use the site for unlawful purposes.

We may block access for anyone who doesn’t respect these rules.

6. Warranties and liability

The site is provided as is. We aim for the information to be correct and up to date, but we don’t guarantee that it is complete, accurate or fit for a particular purpose, nor that the site is always available.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from the use of the site’s information or from being unable to use it — including fines, clearing costs or decisions to buy or sell. This limitation does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, nor to harm to life, body or health, and it does not affect the rights the law gives consumers.

7. Privacy

How personal data is processed is described in the privacy policy.

The site contains links to third-party sites (for example the Diário da República or the SGIFR portal). We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

9. Changes

We may change these terms, in particular when the site starts offering paid services. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If language versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.

If you are a consumer, you keep the rights the law of your country of residence gives you. In case of a dispute, you can turn to an alternative consumer dispute resolution body; the list of bodies is available on the Portuguese Portal do Consumidor. You can also file a complaint in the Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico (the official complaints book).

11. Contact

For questions about these terms, write to the address given in section 1.
