Vila Velha de Ródão

Vila Velha de Ródão is a municipality in the district of Castelo Branco (sub-region: Beira Baixa), covering 330 km² in 4 parishes. 74 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 60 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Vila Velha de Ródão, Fratel and Sarnadas de Ródão. 14 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Rodeios, Gardete and Juncal.
