Arronches

Arronches is a municipality in the district of Portalegre (sub-region: Alto Alentejo), covering 315 km² in 3 parishes. 38 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 44 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Arronches, Esperança and Mosteiros. One of them has forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around it.
