Lagoa

Lagoa is a municipality in the district of Faro (sub-region: Algarve), covering 88 km² in 4 parishes. 33 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 184 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Carvoeiro, Parchal and Lagoa. 42 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Azinhaga, Benagil and Vale da Lapa.
