Vila do Bispo

Vila do Bispo is a municipality in the district of Faro (sub-region: Algarve), covering 179 km² in 4 parishes. 69 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 47 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Sagres, Vila do Bispo and Budens. 22 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Sagres, Salema and Barrancão.
