Ponte de Lima

Ponte de Lima is a municipality in the district of Viana do Castelo (sub-region: Alto Minho), covering 320 km² in 41 parishes. 62 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 561 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Correlhã, Ponte de Lima and Fontão. 141 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Vilar das Almas, Bárrio and Armada.
