Vendas Novas

Vendas Novas is a municipality in the district of Évora (sub-region: Alentejo Central), covering 222 km² in 2 parishes. 68 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 57 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Vendas Novas, Landeira and Afeiteira. 5 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them.
