Mesão Frio

Mesão Frio is a municipality in the district of Vila Real (sub-region: Douro), covering 27 km² in 5 parishes. 32 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 65 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Mesão Frio, Ventuzelas and Oliveira. 2 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Rojão de Cima.
