Seia

Seia is a municipality in the district of Guarda (sub-region: Beiras e Serra da Estrela), covering 436 km² in 24 parishes. Most of it — 81 % — is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 210 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Quintela, Paranhos da Beira and São Romão. 63 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Sabugueiro, Corgas and Sazes da Beira.
