Serpa

Serpa is a municipality in the district of Beja (sub-region: Baixo Alentejo), covering 1,106 km² in 6 parishes. 31 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 70 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Serpa, Pias and Vila Nova de São Bento. 2 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them.
