Almeirim

Almeirim is a municipality in the district of Santarém (sub-region: Lezíria do Tejo), covering 222 km² in 4 parishes. 46 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 129 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Fazendas de Almeirim, Almeirim and Paço dos Negros. 13 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Casal Moreira, Convento da Serra and Arneiro da Volta.
