Ferreira do Zêzere

Ferreira do Zêzere is a municipality in the district of Santarém (sub-region: Médio Tejo), covering 190 km² in 7 parishes. 68 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 301 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Ferreira do Zêzere, Milheiros and Portela de Vila Verde. 53 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Rio Fundeiro, Vale de Sachos and Aldeia.
