Ansião

Ansião is a municipality in the district of Leiria (sub-region: Região de Leiria), covering 176 km² in 6 parishes. 66 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 251 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Avelar, Ansião and Mata de São Jorge. 84 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Melriça, Marquinho and Netos.
