Batalha

Batalha is a municipality in the district of Leiria (sub-region: Região de Leiria), covering 103 km² in 4 parishes. 61 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 122 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Batalha, Golpilheira and Faniqueira. 40 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Vale de Ourém, Perulheira and São Mamede.
