Leiria is a municipality in the district of Leiria (sub-region: Região de Leiria), covering 565 km² in 20 parishes. 62 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 599 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Leiria, Maceira and Milagres. 314 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Bidoeira de Cima, Monte Redondo and Memória.
