Cinfães is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Tâmega e Sousa), covering 239 km² in 14 parishes. Most of it, 77 %, is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 302 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Espadanedo, Souselo and Nespereira. 78 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Casais, Mourelos and Pelisqueira.
