Santa Comba Dão

Santa Comba Dão is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Viseu Dão Lafões), covering 112 km² in 6 parishes. 63 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 128 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Santa Comba Dão, Treixedo and São Joaninho. 35 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Chamadouro, Colmeosa and Coval.
