Mangualde

Mangualde is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Viseu Dão Lafões), covering 219 km² in 12 parishes. 67 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 224 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Mangualde, Mangualde Gare and Moimenta de Maceira Dão. 37 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Penedo da Feiticeira, Termas de Alcafache and Mosteirinho.
