Sernancelhe

Sernancelhe is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Douro), covering 229 km² in 13 parishes. 72 % of it is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 79 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Sernancelhe, Ferreirim and Granjal. 17 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Penso, Fonte Arcada and Lapa.
