São Pedro do Sul is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Viseu Dão Lafões), covering 349 km² in 14 parishes. Most of it — 85 % — is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.
The map finds 314 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are São Pedro do Sul, Santa Cruz da Trapa and Pindelo dos Milagres. 152 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them — among them Termas, Covelas and Pesos.
