Vouzela

Vouzela is a municipality in the district of Viseu (sub-region: Viseu Dão Lafões), covering 194 km² in 9 parishes. Most of it, 78 %, is forest land (woodland, scrub or natural pasture, according to the COS 2025 land-cover map): there, the strip around each house is 50 m wide.

The map finds 176 villages (groups of at least 10 buildings); the largest are Campia, Vouzela and Queirã. 45 of them have forest land on more than half of the 100 m strip around them, among them Vouzela, Carvalhal do Estanho and Mogueirães.
